This LEED Gold new construction project located in downtown Los Angeles serves a 24/7 operational building with multi-technology occupancy sensors for zone controls of both lighting, ventilation, heating and cooling. Even though it is a 24 hours per day operation 7-days a week the zone control sensors cut off lighting and HVAC systems during periods of unoccupied conditions. As a result, the effective actual % occupied area is reduced significantly. For example, 25% or more energy consumption is avoided, as compared to conventional control systems, with resulting significantly lower energy use intensity. The commissioning agent adds value resolving problems early as possible to prevent bottlenecks in process.
